Flawed Damascus Dagger

Attached are some photos of a dagger I've just finished.


I was pretty pleased with this project until I decided to be a complete idiot and drill the pin hole in the handle by eye instead of carefully measuring and marking the spot.

As you can see, the pin is offset from the center, which really detracts from the overall piece. This happened late last night. I was just thinking: "I should get to bed. I'm tired . . " but then I thought "Ah hell, I'll just set the pin so the epoxy can set overnight . . ." Tired = sloppy. *grumble*

All I see on my knives are the flaws . . .

Anyway, here are the specs:

-- 128 layers of 01 and Low Carbon

-- Brass and mild steel fixtures (steel spacer has been heat colored)

-- Ironwood sheath w/ brass fixtures
